What is CC0015 Health and Wellbeing about?
This ICC module explores how lifestyle choices shape physical health, habits, and long-term wellbeing. The first part of the semester focuses on healthy living topics such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and preventive health.
The second part shifts to wellbeing, covering mental health, stress management, resilience, and social–emotional wellbeing (the order varies by class).

My Experience
This is genuinely the best ICC mod I’ve taken so far. CC0005 introduces us to a range of frameworks and models around healthy living and wellbeing, with content largely tailored to undergraduate life. We also covered practical and relatable topics like stress-coping strategies and conflict resolution for healthier relationships.
If you’re into fitness, personal development, or wellbeing, it’s easy to stay engaged and enjoy the classes. But even if you’re not, this is still one of the more relaxing ICC mods where you can relax in class as the content is not too mentally taxing. After all this is about wellbeing too!
On top of that, the class environment was great. I met a really fun group, and we all looked forward to chatting and seeing each other in class every week to the point where we even met up for a meal outside class.
Study Tips

My group did the Healthy Living Presentation first, where our case focused on how to encourage university students aged 20–25 to eat more plant-based foods. Note that every group gets a different case and this is completely random. For this project, we had to design and present a prototype that solves the problem and we decided to create an app. We conceptualised the idea together, while I built the prototype on Figma.

The app allowed students to track their plant intake and earn points or vouchers when they hit their targets, similar to Healthy 365. Our proposed idea was that school canteens and eateries would flash a QR code when students ordered meals containing vegetables or fruits, which could then be scanned to log intake. However, we had a blind spot that our first instructor picked up on, as she questioned why the tracker started at one serving instead of smaller portions like 0.5. We had treated it as "just a prototype" and did not think too deeply about the mechanics, which cost us some marks.

Our tutor also conducted a poll for the class to vote for the best presentation. We won it and got some bonus marks! But we still got an A- for this presentation.

Next was the Wellbeing Presentation, which involved interviewing someone who had overcome significant challenges in their life. To me this presentation had a lighter workload compared to the first. Our interviewee was a basketball team captain who had torn her ACL twice. Our presentation illustrated her challenges, coping strategies, motivations, and future reflections, while applying the models and frameworks taught in the module. We used the ABCDE model and the COM-B model to structure our analysis. Remember to include lots of quotes from your interview too as my instructor stressed on this a lot.
Unfortunately, we overlooked the requirement that the interviewee had to be at least 21 years old, and ours was 20. The instructor called us out for this in front of the class😭 The grade for this presentation was not disclosed.
As for the Video Learning Modules, my advice remains the same for every mod with this kind of assessment – finish them as early as you can before you can before the pace of the semester picks up!
Lastly, there is the Individual Written Assignment, where you choose a behaviour change to implement over 13 weeks. It can be anything from drinking more water to sleeping earlier or quitting smoking. I chose strength training, as there was a gym directly downstairs my hall which made it convenient. Using a reflective tone in this essay is very very crucial. Your journey does not need to be perfect, and it is completely fine to fall off for a while, as long as you reflect on how you got back on track, what worked, and what did not, using concepts taught in class. I talked about James Clear's (author of Atomic Habits) rules for habit formation:

Diagrams and visual evidence are also extremely important. Some people used Excel habit trackers, photos, or screenshots of Apple Watch fitness rings.

For me, I took a mirror photo every time I went to the gym and compiled them into a monthly calendar on GoodNotes, and also included before-and-after photos of my body. This calendar became both my habit tracker and proof of consistency. MOST importantly, you must clearly link how this new habit has affected your undergraduate life. I wrote about how going to the gym improved my diet and nutrition, made me more disciplined, helped me structure my time better, and improved my focus in class.
The grade for this assessment was not disclosed.
